Château de Lavernette Saint-Amour Le Châtelet 2023
A fine and complex Saint-Amour from granitic soils, combining black cherry, violet and spice with silky structure, mineral freshness and excellent ageing potential.
🍇 About the wine
Le Châtelet 2023 is a distinctive Saint-Amour from Château de Lavernette, first produced as a separate cuvée in 2015. Gamay from granitic terroir is farmed according to certified organic and biodynamic principles, producing a cru Beaujolais with both aromatic finesse and serious structure.
The wine benefits from air when young and develops additional savoury and floral complexity with bottle age, making it equally suited to the table now or to medium-term cellaring.
