The blue wine grape variety known as Grenache (or Grenache Noir) is indigenous to Aragon, Spain, where it is known as garnacha. The Aragonese kingdom's growth in the fifteenth century was aided by its expansion into Sardinia, Corsica, Roussillon, and the Provencal coast. This grape variety is among the most widely grown in the world today.
