Château de Lavernette Le Bleu 2022
An adventurous skin-contact Chardonnay from Château de Lavernette, combining orchard fruit, citrus peel and gentle tannic grip with the freshness of biodynamic Beaujolais terroir.
🍇 About the wine
Le Bleu 2022 is Château de Lavernette’s distinctive orange wine, made from Chardonnay and bottled as Vin de France. Skin contact gives the wine additional aroma, texture and structure while the estate’s organic and biodynamic farming preserves freshness and clarity.
This is a gastronomic, low-intervention expression of Chardonnay: dry, savoury and textural rather than conventionally fruit-forward, with enough freshness to keep the palate energetic.
🍷 Tasting notes
Appearance: Deep golden to amber-toned yellow.
Nose: Ripe apple, citrus peel, dried flowers and subtle herbal notes.
Palate: Textured and dry, with orchard fruit, orange zest, gentle phenolic grip and lively acidity.
Finish: Savoury, persistent and lightly spicy.
🍽️ Food pairing
Excellent with charcuterie, grilled fish, roast poultry, hard cheeses, mushroom dishes and mildly spiced cuisine. Serve cool rather than cold.
