A deep and refined Ardèche red combining ripe dark fruit, Mediterranean spice and garrigue with fine tannins, freshness and impressive ageing potential.

Tasting notes

Appearance: Deep cherry red with excellent brightness and concentration.

Nose: Complex and elegant, opening on ripe black cherry, blackberry and dark plum, followed by pepper, dried herbs and Mediterranean garrigue. With air, more evolved nuances of spice, leather and sous-bois emerge.

Palate: Structured but polished, with a generous core of dark fruit framed by fine-grained tannins. The Mediterranean richness is balanced by notably good freshness, giving Berty considerable precision and length. Savoury herbs, spice and mineral notes carry through to a long, fresh finish.

Style: Berty is clearly one of Château de la Selve’s more ambitious reds: concentrated and structured, yet built around finesse and freshness rather than extraction or heavy oak.
