Weingut Hagn Reserve Green Hunter BIO 2023
A complex organic Grüner Veltliner Reserve with ripe fruit, subtle oak and mineral depth, awarded 93 Falstaff points in 2025.
🍇 About the wine
Weingut Hagn Reserve Green Hunter BIO 2023 comes from the Hochlüssen vineyard in Austria’s Weinviertel, where Grüner Veltliner grows on clay soils. After approximately one day of skin contact, the wine fermented spontaneously in large oak casks and matured in large wood for around eight months before bottling.
🏆 Falstaff – 93 points
Falstaff awarded the 2023 Green Hunter 93 points, highlighting its floral honey, passion fruit and clementine zest aromas, gentle toffee and tobacco spice, fine creaminess and excellent persistence.
🍷 Tasting notes
Medium yellow with silver reflections. Yellow apple and juicy white fruit lead into subtle pear, tropical fruit and a delicate tobacco nuance. Fresh acidity and finely spiced minerality balance the wine’s generous texture, finishing long, elegant and savoury.
🍽️ Food pairing
Excellent with grilled veal, roast poultry, white fish, creamy pasta, Mediterranean vegetables and flavourful grilled dishes. Its depth and gentle oak also pair beautifully with mature alpine cheeses.
