La Casa di Bricciano Il Ritrovo 2015
A mature and characterful Tuscan red, combining generous dark fruit with silky tannins, savoury complexity and the tertiary elegance of a beautifully evolved 2015.
🥂 Tasting Notes
Appearance deep ruby moving towards garnet at the rim, showing the first signs of mature evolution while retaining impressive depth and clarity.
Aroma complex and developed, with ripe black cherry, blackberry and plum complemented by dried red fruits. With air, the wine reveals layers of cedar, tobacco, leather and sweet spice, followed by more mature nuances of dried herbs, forest floor and a subtle balsamic character.
Palate full-bodied and generous, yet increasingly refined with age. Ripe dark fruit remains at the core, supported by fresh acidity and smooth, well-integrated tannins. Black cherry and plum are joined by tobacco, cedar, dried Mediterranean herbs and earthy notes. Bottle ageing has softened the structure considerably, giving the wine a harmonious, almost velvety texture.
Finish long, warm and savoury, with lingering notes of dried cherry, dark plum, tobacco, leather and spice. Subtle earthy and balsamic nuances provide additional complexity and a distinctly Tuscan character.
Ageing Potential the 2015 is now in a very attractive mature drinking window. I would enjoy it between now and approximately 2028–2030, depending on storage conditions. Decant gently for around 30 minutes, primarily to allow the aromas to open and to separate any sediment rather than to give it prolonged aeration.
