La Casa di Bricciano Chianti Classico Riserva 2020
A refined and expressive Chianti Classico Riserva, combining ripe Sangiovese fruit, Tuscan savouriness and polished structure with excellent freshness.
🥂 Tasting Notes
Appearance deep ruby red with subtle garnet reflections beginning to appear at the rim. Clear and concentrated, with an attractive brightness that suggests both maturity and freshness.
Aroma elegant and layered, opening with ripe black cherry, red plum and wild berries. With air, floral notes of violet emerge alongside dried Mediterranean herbs, cedar, tobacco and sweet spices. Subtle hints of leather, balsamic herbs and forest floor are beginning to develop, adding complexity without diminishing the purity of the fruit.
Palate generous and beautifully balanced, with ripe cherry and dark berry fruit framed by fresh acidity and fine-grained, well-integrated tannins. The mid-palate shows good depth, introducing savoury notes of dried herbs, tobacco, cedar and gentle spice. Compared with the 2019, the 2020 shows a particularly appealing combination of ripe fruit, suppleness and freshness.
Finish long and harmonious, with lingering black cherry, dried red fruit, herbs and subtle oak spice. A savoury, mineral character provides freshness and precision on the finish.
Ageing Potential already drinking beautifully, particularly after 30–60 minutes of decanting, but with sufficient fruit, acidity and tannic structure to continue developing for another 8–10 years. Expect increasingly complex notes of dried cherry, tobacco, leather, undergrowth and balsamic herbs with bottle age.
