La Casa di Bricciano Chianti Classico Riserva 2019
A mature and beautifully structured Chianti Classico Riserva, combining ripe Sangiovese fruit, savoury Tuscan character and the elegance of extended ageing.
🥂 Tasting Notes
Appearance deep ruby red evolving towards garnet at the rim, reflecting the wine’s maturity while retaining good depth and brilliance.
Aroma complex and expressive, with ripe black cherry, dried red berries and plum at the forefront. With air, the bouquet develops notes of violet, dried Mediterranean herbs, tobacco and cedar, alongside hints of leather, forest floor and warm spice. The oak is well integrated, adding depth rather than dominating the fruit.
Palate rich and structured yet elegant, with concentrated cherry and plum fruit supported by fresh acidity and fine, mature tannins. Savoury notes of dried herbs, tobacco and earthy spice emerge through the mid-palate. The characteristic freshness of Sangiovese keeps the wine lively and provides an excellent counterpoint to the warmer character of the 2019 vintage.
Finish long, dry and persistent, with lingering notes of dried cherry, dark berries, cedar, tobacco and subtle balsamic herbs. A mineral and slightly earthy character adds complexity to the finish.
Ageing Potential the 2019 is entering an excellent drinking phase now. Decanting for 30–60 minutes will help reveal its full aromatic complexity. Well-stored bottles should continue to evolve gracefully until approximately 2030–2034, developing more tertiary notes of leather, dried fruit, undergrowth and tobacco.
