Gregor Schup Gumpoldskirchen Rotgipfler 2023
A rich and elegant Rotgipfler that beautifully balances ripe orchard fruit, subtle oak and the characteristic minerality of Gumpoldskirchen.
Tasting Notes
Bright golden-yellow in the glass. The nose opens with expressive aromas of ripe pear, yellow apple, quince and white peach, complemented by notes of orange zest, acacia honey and a hint of fresh herbs. Gentle smoky nuances and subtle oak add depth and complexity. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and creamy, yet beautifully balanced by refreshing acidity and a distinct mineral backbone. The long finish reveals ripe orchard fruit, delicate spice and a touch of salinity. The wine is matured in large oak casks, contributing texture rather than overt wood flavours.
