The 2023 Vieilles Vignes opens with a brilliant pale gold colour edged with green highlights. The nose is deep and expressive, showcasing the concentration expected from old vines: layers of ripe citrus, white peach, and pear, lifted by nuances of white flowers, fresh herbs, and the distinctive flinty “fumé” minerality of the terroir.

On the palate, the wine is rich yet precise, with a beautifully textured mouthfeel. Flavours of stone fruit, grapefruit, and subtle exotic notes are supported by a vibrant, finely tuned acidity. The mineral backbone is pronounced, delivering a crisp tension that carries the wine through to a long, elegant, smoky finish.

This wine is produced on flint and clay soils of Saint-Andelain from more than 50 year old vines. 

This wine is great for aperitif. You will enjoy the nice pairing with fish dishes, a fried “foie gras”, shellfish, cheeses and white meat.

Le Domaine de Congy Vieilles Vignes 2023 received a rating of 1 star, which corresponds to a very successful wine. This wine was rated in the 2026 edition of the Guide Hachette des Vins.
