Located in the village of Puy-Notre-Dame, the last village in Saumur before Anjou Noir, the Domaine de l'Enchantoir has several centuries of history with vines. Located at the top of the Enchantoir hill, its 15 hectares of organic vines surround the estate's housing which were built between the 15th and 19th centuries.
It was in 2016 that Jean-Michel and Fabienne realized their dreams of producing their own wine by taking over the reins of the Domaine. They are quickly joined by their daughter Amandine who joins in their desire to make quality wines which reflect the generosity of the clay-limestone terroirs of the village. Today they grow Chenin, Cabernet Franc and 1ha of Chardonnay which they use for their pet' nat'. The quality of their Cabernet Franc vintages is recognized by the Saumur Puy-Notre-Dame appellation, famous for the complex and generous character of its red wines.
Their projects are multiple today: agroforestry, conversion to biodynamics, planting new grape varieties, market gardening and planting orchards, creation of lodges. They see the Domaine de l'Enchantoir as an ecosystem where each activity is dedicated to the expression of nature and terroirs.
