On the palate, the wine is fresh, lively and wonderfully juicy, true to the Barbera character. Its naturally bright acidity gives the wine energy and lift, allowing the fruit to shine with clarity. Flavours of cherry, raspberry and redcurrant unfold with a smooth, supple texture, while a discreet touch of spice and minerality provides structure and balance. The finish is clean, vibrant and pleasantly long, leaving a sense of purity and freshness. 

Pairing with food
The lively acidity and juicy red-fruit profile of the 2024 Barbera d’Alba make it an exceptionally versatile food wine. It pairs beautifully with classic Piedmont dishes such as tajarin pasta, vitello tonnato, and ragù-based preparations, where its freshness cuts through richness and enhances savory flavours.
It also complements tomato-based dishes, from simple Margherita pizza to pasta al pomodoro, as Barbera’s bright character stands up well to the acidity of the tomato. Grilled or roasted white meats—chicken, pork, or herb-crusted roasts—work particularly well, as do charcuterie, mild cheeses, and mushroom dishes.
