Pinot Noir
Pinot Noir is one of the most well-known varieties in the world, and are especially valued in the production of red wines. The variety is known for its thin-skin and therefore sensitive to the environment in which it grows. This results in wines that are light in colour and body, but with more complex aromas of red fruits, floral notes and earthy flavors. The thin shell is contributing to the difficulty of farming, but it is also responsible for the characteristic properties of the Pinot Noir wines.
The variety produces wines with a wide range of tastes, from light and fruity to full and strong, depending on factors such as the soil, the climate, and the wine making techniques. This is a very important part of the wine of Burgundy in France and is also found in other wine regions all over the world such as Champagne, Jura, Germany, Italy, New Zealand, the USA and Australia.
