Tuscany is one of the most famous and prolific wine regions in Europe. It's best known for its Sangiovese-based dry red wines. In the last 20 years more other varieties are being used. Some of these are traditional, as the Alicante Nero, or are classic as the Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. In white we find the Trebbiano (Ugni Blanc), Malvasia, Vermentino and Vernaccia. They tend to produce very dry and refreshing wines.
