Discover the bold yet refined expression of altitude and terroir: Vetusta Viñas de Fuentenebro 2024.

From two high-elevation plots in the celebrated district of Fuentenebro (900–1,000 m) within the Ribera del Duero, this wine stands out for its minerality, freshness and vibrant personality. Craft-produced from organically-grown Tempranillo vines, hand-picked and vinified with care to preserve fruit purity, this wine invites you to taste “place” in a glass. Ideal for those seeking artisan Spanish reds with character, elegance and a story rooted in height, soil and sustainable viticulture.

🥂 Tasting Notes

Appearance: Deep ruby-garnet with youthful purple hues.
Aroma: Bright red and dark cherry, wild strawberry, subtly herbal nuance, and a distinct minerality evocative of the stony soils—lifted and fresh rather than heavy.
Palate: Medium-bodied with lively acidity, fine-grained tannins and vibrant fruit. Expect flavours of red cherry, red currant, with hints of forest floor mineral, subtle spice and dry finish. The altitude gives extra tension and precision.
Finish: Long, fresh but persistent; the mineral core lingers and invites another sip.
Food Pairing: A versatile red—works beautifully with grilled lamb or beef, game, richly-flavoured stews, mushroom dishes or mature cheeses. Also great as a stand-alone glass for conversation.

Region: DO Ribera del Duero — high altitude plots in Fuentenebro.
Grape & Vinification: 100 % Tempranillo from two plots (“El Bosque” and “El Carrascalón”) on distinct soils—a pebble-rich and acidic plot and another with red clay and minerally stones. Fruit is harvested early to retain freshness, then vinified using a combination of stainless steel, concrete and wood tanks to highlight terroir rather than heavy oak.
Ageing Potential: While the wine is crafted for early enjoyment, the quality of the vines and terroir suggest cellaring for 5-8 years will reward with deeper complexity.
