Bright and vibrant, the Quinta de Santa Teresa Avesso 2024 offers pure Avesso character with lively acidity and refined minerality.

Born from the will to produce an Avesso with longer extraction and unfiltered this wine is vinified in stainless steel tanks, where it ages for a long period of time on its fine lees in order to obtain a pure, structured wine in an elegant profile of vast gastronomic potential.

Avesso grape
A high quality white grape variety that leads to full bodied aromatic and flavorful Portuguese white wines. This varietal can result in wines with citrus and tree fruit aromas along with subtle hints of tropical fruit. Avesso has medium-sized bunches with large yellow and green berries. High-yielding and rustic, this grape is planted primarily in Baião, in the vinho verde region of Portugal..

Tasting notes
Aromatic expression where stone fruit, citrus and light tropical fruits predominate. On the palate it shows present but delicate fruit, good acidity, silky character and good volume in an elegant, engaging set with a long finish. It will age well in bottle.

Food pairing

🍤 Shellfish & seafood: e.g., prawns with garlic & parsley, scallops with a citrus finish, oysters — the minerality and vibrant profile complement the sea flavours beautifully

🐟 Grilled or pan-seared white fish, such as sea bass or cod, with a drizzle of lemon & herb butter — the acidity of the wine will brighten the dish and match the freshness

🧀 Cheese: Fresh goat cheese or young cow’s milk cheese, Mild feta or ricotta

🥗 Vegetable-forward dishes or salads: Think asparagus with shaved Parmesan, green peas & mint risotto, or a fresh salad with goat cheese and citrus vinaigrette — the wine’s freshness makes it a versatile partner

🐔 Light poultry or pork dishes: For example chicken breast with lemon-thyme, or pork tenderloin with a light herb crust — enough body in the wine to hold its own, but won’t overpower

🥢 Asian-inspired cuisine: Dishes with a little bit of citrus, ginger or herbal notes — like Thai green curry (mild), or citrus-soy glazed fish — the acidity and fruit work well.

Winemaking process
Grapes arrive to the winery in 24kg boxes. They are hand-selected and destemmed before going thru skin contact process and a gentle pneumatic press. Stabilization takes place, no filtration. No animal derivate is used in the process, making it a vegan-friendly wine. A special care was taken into this process, minimizing any impact, with the intention of producing a wine that expresses well the particularities of the grapes and terroir.
